We are an independent coffee-shop and kitchen Café located on Uckfield High Street, serving exceptional coffee and delicious food since June 2011. 

Starting as a greengrocers and deli, our roots always stem back to this; our aim is to provide fresh food, packed with great flavour and locally sourced wherever possible. We strive for top quality and well-loved dishes using only the best ingredients. Not only can you sit in for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, spending time in our relaxed, friendly atmosphere, you can also purchase our range of jams, chutneys, oils and other seasonal treats from local suppliers.

We are also particularly proud of our coffee, which is our own unique ‘Hartfields’ blend with notes of chocolate, nuts and tangerine - perfect for however you take your coffee, be it an espresso, cappuccino, or anything in between. Coming to us in collaboration with Horsham Coffee Roaster, our beans are always sourced ethically and sustainably from small micro-lot farms. Our trained baristas then ensure that every drink is the very best it can be.

We are proud to say that we provide a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meal options, as well as offering a range of alternative milks for our drinks.

Our journey…

2011 –Opened by James Hartfield as a greengrocer, selling fresh local produce of the highest quality.

2012  – We installed our first coffee machine, beginning our journey of bringing great hand roasted coffee to Uckfield. With a passion for cooking good food James naturally turned his thoughts to making the produce into winter-warmer soups and refreshing summer smoothies. 

2013 – With the success of our takeaways an upstairs seating area was created to let our customers spend more time in a welcoming atmosphere, whilst shopping for their produce.

2014 – As summer approached tables where set up outside in our large on street ‘town square’ area.

2015 – With a desire to always offer the best taste possible James collaborated with Horsham Coffee Roaster to achieve our own unique blend of coffee, which you won’t find anywhere else!

2018 – Due to the continued success of the cafe we embarked on a complete renovation and expansion into next-door, creating a bigger, more spacious café, bringing all our seating onto ground floor level with disabled access toilet, air conditioning & state of the art kitchen equipment for added efficiency.

We will always remain committed to fresh food, high-quality ingredients and exceptional coffee!
